Radiator Hoses
Using Serpentine setup from a '93 GM 350. Anyone have a Pt# for the preformed upper hose that will clear the alternator? Also a number for the lower one would be nice as well. Am using a 4 core aluminum radiator. Thanks for any help!

Re: Radiator Hoses
I'm in the same boat you are just not there yet.
I haven't tried yet but the stock upper hose for a 1993 may work if you use a 1993 thermostat housing (hose Dayco E71884) housing carQuest 84992 I believe a stock lower will work (NAPA 7463) |

Re: Radiator Hoses
On my '72, I used a Gates 22290 upper. I had to trim 1-5/8" off at the radiator end, and I used the factory water neck off the '93.
I believe the factory '72 lower hose is what I used on mine. I had to tweak the frame rail for clearance, but it was no big deal. |

Re: Radiator Hoses
Mixing new with old never look right. But if its all you have at the moment. Its works but looks out of place.I've had a fan bolt brake on me.Not fun I was on a steep grade. That's why i used the pulleys off my 3 ton bob tail that use to use a 3 pulley system. For the PTO.Ya i heard that mother snap it went into the fan and it was gone But i had 1 more holding strong.
I'm not a one belt man.I don't have money falling out of my butt.A engine now days is 2500 used is 1200 for a trusted one and 500 for taking a gamble. I've done some research on on the radiator hoses and i found out the one i like the best is the 1967-68 chevy truck 327 water housing out let is straight out words. I use the Edalbrock performer intake with the temp sending unit right next to the water out let housing. The one that comes on the 1969-72 sucks can't use the temp sending unit the hose hits it.But with the 1967-68 327 out let on a 350 most of them are cast iron better.I kill to birds with 1 stone one throw. They make a top hose that curves just right over the shroud and snakes right to the upper out let.Never had a problem.Never had a blown head gasket.Been in the scraping business for over 24 years.Lost 3 hoses but never fried the motor. I'm a gauge watcher every 2 miles i glance at my gauges go over 490K on one motor pulling a trailer.Have to double my mileage like a bus or a motor home cus of the weight my engine pushes. Here are some pics on the 9 trucks i own from 1964-72 |

Re: Radiator Hoses
I had the same issue with the serpentine belt system; not sure if I still have the tag on my upper hose, but I'll check and see what I can find. Probably should have kept some notes somewhere.
What are you using for the lower hose? I was having trouble with the lower hose hitting the frame. My truck is not drive-able yet, so it's not an issue, but it will be at some point hopefully.

Re: Radiator Hoses
This is the hose I ordered from Rock Auto for the upper hose, and I'm pretty sure it's the one I ended up using. (I bought and returned many hoses to Auto zone and Rock Auto).
I searched for the hose for a "1990 CHEVROLET C1500 PICKUP 5.7L 350cid V8" on their site. It's a GATES 21191. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1031184&jsn=2

Re: Radiator Hoses
I used an upper hose of a 69 trans am I think. I had one of those swivel water necks. Just trimmed as necessary. The lower I used the stock 69 one. It rubbed on the frame a little so I split a piece of hose down the middle and put that as an extra layer were it touched the frame.

Re: Radiator Hoses
Heres a solution for your serpentine setup. I going this route with a 1998 350 engine.
