Truck starting in drive

Hi Guys
I have a 69 2 wheel drive that I did a 5.3 swap with a 4l60E trans swap. Been working on getting the little items all to work right. Got the back up lights working, had to install a new neutral safety switch. The truck starts in Park, neutral and Drive! Have tried to make adjustments but so far no luck on that fixing the starting in drive issues. Any suggestions?

Thanks Mike

Re: Truck starting in drive

Are you using the factory NSS on the column or the one on the side of the 4l60e?

Re: Truck starting in drive

Disconnect the purple wire from the NSS, hook up a continuity tester (or meter), and verify that as you sweep it through its motion it goes off and on and various places.

If not, and I suspect not, then the NSS is bad.

Make sure you don't have any BRANCHES in the purple wire. It's a series circuit, there are no parallel runs in it.

Thanks I'll give that try. It is a new NSS from Advanced auto parts.
