Factory Tach needle reading when truck is off?

What SHOULD the factory tach needle read when the truck is off? The reason for asking is I think I've found why it reads low since I "cleaned up the face" a few months ago.
It appears bent.
That being said, is it possible to carefully "bend it back"?

Then yup, it's bent. It rests below zero.
I first got the hunch when I noticed it was reading consistently low up to about 2k.
What material is the needle?
I'm hoping its metal.

Is it possible to remove the needle, or at least the center button?

...only if you are a jeweller.
to my recollection the center button is part of the main face stamped out with a top orange round thing.....so not removeable.
The tach swings back and forth in behind this raised surface....not attached it I don't think.

This is a procedure for early morning, after a coffee...on a work bench with the tach head fully removed, well lit area....small jeweller like tools available....and 412 tons of patience and very careful steady hand work.
...just my opinion.

...or ask T-Bone how to do it. He'll know.
