What extra parts needed to install a 283/327 radiator in a 230 truck?
The bottom brackets are different, right? How about the top bracket, hoses?
Really want the bigger radiator because I'm working on an A/C install. . Thanks.

I need this info too. Are you installing a/c on an inline 6 motor?

If you currently have the small I6 radiator that sits out from the radiator support and down on the lower step of the crossmember, you will have to change a few things. First you will need the wider saddles for the radiator you are going to purchase. These will bolt to the radiator crossmember on the top, flush with the top of the frame. You will need the correct top hold down for the width of the radiator core you buy. Next you will need to remove the shrouding between the radiator support and the I6 radiator and replace it with the pieces for the V8 style radiator.

I've removed the factory fan since these pics were taken. The metal blade did not clear the brass fitting for the tranny cooler - so beware of that possible issue. The top radiator clamp is also shorter since the V8 radiator sits closer to the radiator core support. When I needed to swap to a new radiator (new aluminum) I found that my original lower saddles and top clamp were not wide enough, so I had to do some fabrication of both the lower saddles and the top clamp. For me, the V8 radiator position allows for a little more room to add an electric fan and a little more working room too.

These are the V8 radiator surround pieces I mentioned above.
