Need some painting help

I just shot the first coat of paint on the 72 and have a couple questions before I re coat.
Can I wetsand the flaws out of the first coat? I have some fish eye showing up and would like to correct it before I spray another coat. Or should I just leave it and wetsand it on the final coat??

I have not had fish eye in a long time but as I recall it can be a bad situation. The last time that I had fish eye it was on a glove box door and I assume that it was caused by silicone that was applied by someone using some product.

Anyway I had sanded the glove box, primed and painted it. The fish eye came through. I resanded, primed and painted, the fish eye came back. I ended up sand blasting the door, cleaning with lacquer thinner and then applied a primer/sealer. This worked as the paint turned out good.

The sooner you can get rid of the fish eye the better. I would try wet sanding and cleaning again before applying the next coat of paint. There are some good degreasers available to use for cleaning.

My experience with fish eye was over 10 years ago and there might be other products that work.

Good luck!

OK I was wrong, it was orange peel not fish eye. Most of it is gone already, but am I able to wetsand between coats? Oh and it's a suede finish paint, if that makes a difference

Orange peel! Much easier to deal with. I would still wet sand between coats. It will just get better if you do.
