Carrier bearing

I don't know if I'm the only one to have this trouble but I've been going through carrier bearings. I've replaced three of the factory style ones until I turned loose of some dollars and put the billet aluminum one from LMC truck in last week. It seems to be a very sturdy and tough replacement that fits perfectly and should last a long time. The parts house replacement was bending or breaking and this is behind a fresh 283. The pics tell the story.

Re: Carrier bearing

I have had the same problem. I finally fixed mine by drilling 4 small holes(1 in each corner) and bolted the 2 pieces together. That was about 10 years ago and its still holding strong. The spot welds are the problem with these. Eventually I will get one of the one piece units.
