Skid Pad Tests
Has anyone done skidpad tests? I'm wondering what the limits are for 67-72 trucks with modified suspension. I saw a couple of articles that stated .8 g's in the 100ft skidpad test but this was with bolt-on kits.

Re: Skid Pad Tests
I think this is a great question; would be cool to be able to test/see results of different aftermarket suspension systems potential!

Re: Skid Pad Tests
How modified, and what tires are the big questions. Back in 2013 we were invited to do some tire testing at Willow Springs. The basic test was to chart improvements from the 'current' tire you were using (ours were BFG KDW) vs. the Falken 615. Using a variety of test measures and tuning optimization, we pulled .92 average on the pad with the HellBoy.
Now today, with the 615+, or the BFG Rival S, we have logged a high of 1.16G (road coarse) but I suspect that a high on a skid pad would be around .98 We have encouraged and invited many manufacturers to join us for test and track days, and/or to do comparisons at many events, sadly most don't answer. I'm with you guys. There are plenty of good parts out there, and not everyone wants the same thing. It would be nice to see how they stack up. Early on it looked like the "Truckin Throwdown" would be such a venue, but politics and advertising $$ took over, so, no such luck. Keep pushin.
