72 look like newer clamshell mounts and towers, but are different
slightly on the mounts.

The 72 mounts look just like the 73-87 small and big block mounts with only slight differences.

Yours are the 73-87 type. They will still work but you will have to drill a hole for the rear bolt on the top of the frame. Other than that, they will be the same. They will use the rubber mount for a 73-87 instead of a 72 (slightly different). I had a set of them I was going to use and then bought a frame with the 72 mounts already in it. If you're not worried about it being year-correct, then use those ones. They are worth about $35-45 to resell. The 72 mounts are more like $100, so you are saving money this way and have the same type mount.

If you want, I can sandblast and powder coat them chassis black for a very good price for you.

Pic of BB 1972 only frame mounts...note the one rib for reinforcing compared to the 73 up two rib reinforcing and the slightly different hole pattern
