Hard to start, fuel issue, pedal on floor just to start - HELP!

Hello,

Today when I tried to start my truck, (84 with 305 stock) I could tell I wasn't getting enough fuel, so I literally had my pedal on the floor until it sputtered to life. Then it felt like it was only getting a trickle of fuel for a few seconds (pedal still on the floor) before it became normal and stable and I could let my foot off the gas. I experienced no further issues driving to work but definitely am worried about starting it up again.

Could it be a warm up or choke issue? Is there something I can check myself before taking it to a shop? Thanks in advance!

Rob
