Hauled in a 67 K-20 this time.

Yep, another rusty gem that may not be worth saving. It was already in a junkyard when a buddy (sakohntr) told me about it.
I think it started life as a 2wd 67 custom with big back window. The current running gear is 71-72 I think. Carb is missing but the engine isn't stuck. Too bad minnesota got a grip and didn't let go! When was the last time you saw a QR-78-16 tire size?
Enjoy the pics...

It does look decent...from here. Lots of good stuff there. You didn't get the blade/frame for that Fisher plow, did you? Buckshot Mudders went to being Bigfoots at some point. I think they dropped the radias and still made the bias a while longer.

Not worth saving? It's a lot less rusty than many a DD.

That rear sliding window looks different? Is that an electric slider? The one piece center made me look it up. I want one, pretty slick!

Didn't get the blade with it. MIA. I didn't know that about the tires.

Trust me, its bad. Couple more pics.
Yes you can see through the frame in one pic and see the patches welded on in the other.

I wouldn't have turned that one down either lots of good stuff on it.
Kinda threw me for a loop for just a sec seeing the shift indicator and the 4spd handle.

That's the unfortunate fact about most plow trucks. They are abused in the worst conditions and put away wet and salty.

Tilt with a floor shift will bring some money or maybe not looks like it has an indicator on it.

My buddy runs a '69 GMC and plows every year since about 1992. His rust runs deep, and she still works well! As long as fenders are not falling off, it is worth running it.

Well, maybe you have a few more than others but there will be someone out there that would run it for a few more years...

The body looks pretty good unless the floors are gone. I mean it still got cab corners. On mine you can reach into the cab. So what are your plans for it?

That's a really nice olive Cheyenne seat! Looks to be in the same shape as mine. They are hard to find like that. Lots of other goodies on that one. Too bad the frame looks the way it does.

It has an auto tilt in it.

And this is what happens. And they guys down south and west think if it needs cab corners and rockers, they throw them away.

It is an auto tilt that was added. Feels tight however.
Been driving your 67?

I think the front diff is bad also. I was hoping to update my 71 Cheyenne plow truck, but this is worse.

It has been patched up, and not by someone who knew what they were doing.

Pretty sure it is an LMC cover. And a few broken springs on the drivers side too.

A few more pics to really show condition. I pulled the tailgate off today without unbolting anything!!

Either way the tilt is worth money. Yes finally driving the 67 after putting an overdrive in it she's a cruiser.

Re: Hauled in a 67 K-20 this time.

Yep she is pretty toasty but she still looks real proud. Maybe a few good plow days left in her yet? When I was a kid in the mid 70's I used to watch the guy that plowed the church parking give it hell in an identical truck. His was also 4 speed and it had some wicked loud mufflers on it.

Re: Hauled in a 67 K-20 this time.

In the past few yrs I've looked at a few k' s for sale anywhere from $500-$2500 with frames excalty like that, almost everyone being a beat up plow truck.

I would much rather deal with the rotted sheetmetal than the bones of the truck.

I got lucky with my k20 it only plowed a driveway for a very short time but it did haul a crap ton of firewood and the frame is very good for around here.

I wouldn't even try running that one anymore my luck I would leave the axle behind somewhere.

Crusty or not, no title. She's a parts rig. Must have had a cab swap at some point, or the cargo light was added.

That is what I figured with the cargo light also. The cab has a 67 dash, 67 belts, and 67 knobs inside.

Eric, what is the tell tale sign for the 67 dash? Bolt holes for the 67 only park brake mech?

Ryan, '68s used the same e-brake. It's the smaller ignition switch hole/bezel that gives them away

Yes, Eric is correct. The truck is no longer roadworthy. But he will find a good home for the remaining parts.
