Too add to Keith's response, I've had horrible luck with electric pumps. My average lifespan is about 100 hours. So I can use up that 100 hours in couple months running all the time, or spread that 100 hours over the course of twenty years, running ten seconds at a time.

If your luck is anything like mine, you're gonna want that pump running as little as possible.

I might just stick with the mechanical pump.
