searching for vinyl paint/dye

It looks like VHT stopped making satin medium blue vinyl paint/dye (SP-951). Does anyone happen to know if there is another paint that would be a near exact match to the VHT paint?

Yes, I have a can of SEM but it is much darker and looks like they do not offer a medium blue close to VHT. Anyone use Dupli Color?

I have never used the Dupli Color vinyl paint, but I have used their regular paint in both solid color and metallic and have been very happy with it. I plan on trying out their vinyl paint in the near future.

I will suspect that Dupli Color won't offer it seeing that Dupli Color and VHT are the same company. They do have a medium blue #HVP112 it maybe close can always contact VHT or Dupli Color and ask if they are close or see if they can give you a paint formula to have some blended.

I know auto body paint supply shops used to mix it whatever color you want. The old paint books had the interior colors

Thanks guys, VHT's repsonse was that it was discontinued and there is no replacement available that they offer.
Looks like getting something custom mixed is the route I may end up going, which is fine, just a disappointment it's no longer available off the shelf.

Re: searching for vinyl paint/dye

I see Classic Industries sells a Medium Blue vinyl paint. Anyone here tried it before? There is no color sample shown online and for $16 a can I'd like to know at least if its close before ordering it.

I have used both USA1 & Classic Industries vinyl paint. And I have had good luck with both matching colors with the interiors. I restore/rebuild seats, so I am always painting the hinge & seatbelt garnishes to match with the seat and interior.

As stated in the above post #4, USA1 is probably the best as far as matching. And they will also do custom color matching to get even better results.

So I had a can of Classic Industries Medium Blue, I forgot I had it. Tried it on a blue garnish and it looks super close to the original blue. Will post up a pic later, when I get some parts painted. So stayed tuned:

Re: searching for vinyl paint/dye

The part on the left has been painted with the Classic Industries Medium Blue. The part on the right, is original & untouched.
