77 SWB Silverado Project
I am pretty new to 73-87 trucks. I have always played with the 67-72, but decided I really like the square bodies and wanted to build one.
It appeared to be in pretty good shape when I bought it. It had new paint, but whoever painted it didn't know how to spray a single stage with lots of metallic. It was tiger striped and mottled really bad. I decided to do a quick paint job on it. Well that is where the snowball started!! I am now neck deep in it. I pulled the interior and found the original carpet and jute padding under the current carpet. Needless to say, they were holding moisture and once I peeled this stuff out, it took half the floors with them (Looked good underneath before pulling carpet) Anyway, at this point I have replaced both front floors, the pass inner and outer rocker, both front cab mounts and patched the drivers inner and outer rocker as well as replace the drivers cab corner. Next step is pulling the cab and re-doing the frame etc. I am excited to finish it and get to some of the local shows. I am building it to be a driver. I want it to be nice, but not so nice I am afraid to drive it. Here are a few pics as I bought it, some as I am restoring it and a rendering of how it will look after I get done. I am going with steelie wheels for now, but hope to go with a bigger wheel in the future. I am going for modern styling on a classic look. What do you guys think? |

Re: 77 SWB Silverado Project
Here are a couple of renderings of what I plan for it to look like when complete. I will start off with the steel wheels and get the aluminum wheels later on as the budget allows.
Like I said earlier, I am going for a modern take on a classic look. |

I love the color and that you're putting trim back on it. Looks great!! Mike
