she is done, drove her from SC to MI

Hi Guys
Its been a three year job but the truck is for the most part done and I drove it home from SC. 5.3 swap and new paint and interior. New Boyd fuel tank under the bed. All new brake lines and brakes. New Shocks. This will be my summer time driver. It will never be in a car show, been there and done that, this is about driving and enjoying the fruits of my labor on a daily basis during the summer months here in Michigan.

Nice upgrade. I like a car shows every now and then. But the real fun is driving them. I rather be driving one than have a garage queen. Lol

Looks great!

I don't normally do car shows either. Scope out your local area cruise nights, very informal and a lot more fun than a car show. You still get to meet some great people without all the hype.....

Re: she is done, drove her from SC to MI

I have done the car show thing when I owned my Model T. Cruises yes I will find some in the Waterford area. This truck isn't show quality in my eyes. I still need to wet sand the dirt and orange peel then polish it. Don't get me wrong it will be a very nice driver when I am done but thats why I built her, to drive and let people enjoy it. I could not have done it with my brother from another mother. I call him the Wizard. That 5.3 swap is nice and neat, I was really worried about the overflow bottle and the air box. I really wanted to find some way to use them from the donor truck but wanted it to look clean like they belonged. The gas door cut into the bed was his idea as well. Lots of trips to SC to work on it but it was well worth it.

She's a beaut!
nice job.
I'm with ya. I restored my truck and always referred to it as a very nice driver and not a show truck.
Enjoy it!

I do do shows plus I do not have show quality, but the cruise nights are lots of fun, just start talking to another 67-72 owner and enjoy the evening!

On Long Island there is a cruise every night of the week.

Could you post up a picture of that filler lid closed? Very intrigued by that concept.
