Disc brake spindles

Hey all, I'm wanting to put disc brakes in my 1963 GMC and I really can't afford new spindles but I have a set of spindles from a 72 C10 and I was wondering if they will work if I change the ball joints to match the 72 spindles?

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...isc+brake+swap Here I used spindles from a 75. Pretty much the same process. Don't know about the tie rod end on a 72 verses a 75 though.

Nice and thanks for the info but What is the part number for those tie rod sleeves?

look at the 3rd picture down. The only problem I had with the sleeves, is they are backwards. I had to use the outer tie rod ends because they were threaded that way, but they still work.

Re: Disc brake spindles

If you just change the entire steering linkage, you don't have to worry about those. The only thing about swapping the steering linkage is you will need to drill 2 holes to mount the newer idler arm. The one plus is that all your steering, ball joints and brakes will be from the same year truck. Much easier to remember when you need replacement parts.
