Passenger entry assist
My wife and I are getting up there in age. She is 5' and its now hard for her to get into passenger side.
Any ideas on an assist handle or step would be appreciated. I tried searching but can't seem to find correct search words. Thanks |

Re: Passenger entry assist
I am in the same boat. An automatic retractable step would be perfect, just haven't been able to find anything yet. I really don't like the looks of running boards or permanent steps sticking out
I thought about transplanting a strap out of a newer vehicle to the area above the window opening. Might look OK, just not sure how usable it would be.

Re: Passenger entry assist
Mount a stainless or chrome grab handle on the cab exterior behind the door. Or you could even put one along the inside of the A-pillar.

Re: Passenger entry assist
I put a grab handle on the passenger side for my wife. I am also considering what a friend of mine does....he carries a small folding step stool under the passenger seat and he sets it up so his wife (who has MS) can step up into the truck.

Re: Passenger entry assist
Good idea, would like to find a clean looking handle to mount on the A pillar. Maybe custom shape it to match the contour of the pillar. If the after market would produce a clean period looking piece it would sell well......

Re: Passenger entry assist
We have this elderly couple who I used to see at several garage sales. The wife is very short, and has trouble getting out of their truck. She has a metal stepstool with a string tied to it. When they arrive, she drops it out of the truck to get out, and when they leave, she just pulls it back into the truck using the string. Very cute couple.
