Bed Covers?
I have a 70 GMC LWB. I'm look for solid a bedcover, metal or fiberglass. Would also prefer a flush mount cover.
I've seen a few trucks here that have what I'm looking for. But haven't found anyone selling a bed cover for my 70 GMC. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Eric

Re: Bed Covers?
Not sure about a flush cover. There may be someone making one now, but you may have been seeing pictures of Checkmate covers that are no longer being made.

Re: Bed Covers?
I got rid of this cover 2 years ago. It's a Gaylord Lid. It was very well made, It just wasn't my style.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Just a few questions. Did Gaylords do the color matching paint? How far over the bed does the cover's lip extend? Thanks Eric

It's a very snug fit all the way around. Enough where it rubbed a little of the paint off the bed corners.

Re: Bed Covers?
I have a Gaylord too, let me know what details you want. It came in primer and body shop matched to the body.

Re: Bed Covers?
I had a Checkmate on my 52 for 15 years and I loved it. Great cover, great price. I hope someone picks up where they left off. My boss loves his Jackrabbit rollup and I'll admit it is handy:
https://tonneaucoversworld.com/pace-...r-fmc1204.html Too pricey for my blood, I just ordered a Craftec with the Maxx vinyl and 2 extra bows to handle a snow load (had to ask for them). I can buy four for the price of one all metal roll up. http://www.crafteccovers.com/1967-72...-Bed_p_15.html Thanks Huntz |

Re: Bed Covers?
Thanks everyone for the info. The Gaylord is looking very promising. I wish I had found this info sooner. My truck just got out of painting yesterday. It's been in body shop jail since last September.

Re: Bed Covers?
Here is link to the Gaylord website. They are one of the best out there and do color matching although they are pricey.

Re: Bed Covers?
Mine was $1600 plus $150 shipping. Again, it came unpainted.
