Re: S.E. US..The old 72 Suburban had vanished. Anyone seen her?
The trim looks great! Did you use the stick on trim? What did you use for a reference for mounting locations? Getting ready to do this to my suburban and want to make sure I do it correctly, .

Re: S.E. US..The old 72 Suburban had vanished. Anyone seen her?
There is not stick on available for the 69-72. There are some stick on clips offered by Mar-k that are not intended for total attachment. I started with those clips and did not like the gap or results so i removed it and started again. We also trued a few 3M products and was not please with them either. We tested some adhesives and went with an all weather clear silicone based product. We will see how it holds up. I used other trucks we had here and pics from the internet to get the trim in its original spot. we did it on the lift to work eye level and get the lines straight. I am very please with the outcome so far.

72's have stick on clips from the factory. They do use a metal clip on each end or screws to secure them, but in the center are plastic with 2 sided tape. A lot of the aftermarket plastic clips are garbage though.

Re: S.E. US..The old 72 Suburban had vanished. Anyone seen her?
Yes, lost in translation....i believe he was asking about TOTAL stick on trim....there are stick on clips but as far as my research went there is NOT a 100% stick on clip kit for 69-72 trim. I seem to remember one though for 67-68. We tried using ONLY the stick on clips INSTEAD of the metal combined with stick on and was NOT pleased. It left too much of a gap. i was NOT interested in searching for and re drilling all the holes that have since been covered so we did months of R&D to figure the best ulterior method and products. Hopefully it hold up!.....better than that JUNK ACC carpet that IS in it. lol At least the trim is now reproduced so replacement is an option without a lot of trouble.

Finished some touch up to include new side marker lights. Lets see how long it takes for the small chrome bezels fall of of them. I think the next thing will be to charger the AC and see how it has held up over the years since leaving here.

It looks great. It really makes me regret selling the 72 I just had.

I remember charging it when I put the system together.....I guess 13 or so years later isn't too bad!
