thinking of selling my p/u
I was wondering what my truck was worth?
It started out as a 1969 chevy stepside with a 292 3 speed on the tree. Now it has a 350sb and 700r4. I also changed the cab and bed. I went to Kentucky for the cab, fenders, doors, and grill.(very solid all!) I bought what looks like a 1967 bed (no marker lights in the fenders) from a local guy. Theres no p/s or p/b just your standard p/u. The reason Im asking is the wife wants to buy a house. I dont know if i want to sell it yet, but was wondering what the market value was for a non original old truck was!!!!!! thanks for the info steppside69 |

I can guess with some confidence that it will not go for enough to buy that house. The value will end up in the eye if the buyer. Lots of factors here....location, condition, supply vs. demand (how hard has someone in that area been looking for the exact truck you are offering?) I know this is not a direct answer, but who could possibly know? The insurance company says my inherited '69, if totaled, would bring me a fat check of nearly $400, dispite the fact that is is all original, fully functional with 56000 miles on it.

Putter, what insurance agency is screwing you??? My all original, 85K ' 71 truck has been valued at 10 times your amount by State Farm here in Texas.
Last year I had a guy run into the front grill of my truck. They valued my truck, with only 4 options, at $4000 and gave me a check for $950 to replace the inner grill. I would definitely check around for better insurance.
