C10 doors to Blazer doors
I'm sure this has been done. Has anyone cut down 69-72 C10 doors and made them into Blazer doors. They look the same other then doing away with the top portion of the window frame. Any problems in doing this?

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
That's how the factory did it, if I'm not mistaken the assembly manual you can buy shows the process.

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
I seem to recall Blazer doors have reinforcement pieces built into them that the truck doors don't have. Someone might confirm this.

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
You can use truck doors, but suburban doors will work too.

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
You are correct they have a reinforcement plate spot welded in at the latch area. Remove them from your current doors before you scrap them I don't know how many sets of those I have sold. There is also a stainless steel plate that is screwed to the doors that the truck door will not have.

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
I'm actually going to do this myself. It is in the assembly manual. there are three cuts to make.. I'm going to a bone yard to get doors this weekend as long as they are in good shape...

Re: C10 doors to Blazer doors
The previous owner trashed the original Blazer doors and put truck doors on so I guess I'm out of luck. I will have to try to fabricate some new parts or look for donor Plates.
Thank you everyone for your replies! |
