1964 C10 Long Wheel Base Rolling Chassis--- No Shipping

I have a 64 LWB frame with front and rear suspension. Frame looks straight and looks really clean above the rear axle where they rust. Trailing arms are clean also. Unknown brake and rear end condition. Believe it has been sitting a while. If it doesn't sell rolling then I will part it out. $450 Picked up in Shelburn, IN only. I don't have a way to ship or the time to figure out a way.

Re: 1966 C10 Long Wheel Base Rolling Chassis--- No Shipping

I'm curious about that rear end--are you sure it's a '66 chassis? The panhard mount on the rear axle is '60-'63. In '63, they went to the corporate 12-bolt, but all of them also had a Dana 44 as the optional rear.
If it's a Dana 44, it'll have "44" on the snout. (I can't see the rear cover clearly to ID it).
Otherwise, I think that rear is the '63 12-bolt.

I do not know it is a 1966. I was told it is a 66 chassis so any information on verifying what it is would be great. The guy I got it from said he bought it as is to put under a truck that he had wrecked but ended up finding a complete truck instead so did not need the chassis. I mainly know the 67-72 trucks and still learning on the 60-66 trucks. The guy I got it from said it was a 66 and I knew the front looked correct because of the control arms and not the torsion bars. I do not want to sell something for what it is not so any help would be great. I can get more pictures when I am home in the daylight. I thought it looked like a 12 bolt but did not really pay attention to it because I did not know there were options. Thanks for the information.

As far as I know, the '63-'66 chassis is the same, so you shouldn't have any problem regardless of the rear end.
The panhard bars on the '64-'66 are the shorter ones that go to a boss on the top of the axle housing, while the '63 had a longer bar that connected to a bracket on the axle tube, the same as the '60-62.
Mounts, width, bumpers, everything else should be the same, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Where the panhard bar mounts to the frame is different on the 64 vice the 65/66. This frame looks like a 64's.

They look like the 67-72 250 six cylinder stands and if they are then I have several of those extra that I would sale. I will see if I can verify if they are the same or not.

Re: 1966 C10 Long Wheel Base Rolling Chassis--- No Shipping

you could be right about the engine perches being for a 6 cylinder - they looked to me like they were for a V8
If you have some for a V8 I am interested
Thanks

In the 67-72 trucks the v8 and I6 are different but I was told that in the 66 and earlier the v8 & I6 are the same. I am just not sure if the 66 and earlier are the same as the 67-72 I6 stands. If you can understand what I am saying. These are in the V8 location so I would say these are correct for the 66 and older V8s. I will see what I can find out.

Longbed frames can be tough to move - If it comes down to parting it, I want the transmission shift linkage bracket off the drivers frame rail - the one with the ink pen shaped spear sticking out from it....held in by two rivets.

Thanks guys. Sounds like this is a 63 or 64 chassis. Here are a few more pictures of the rear end and panhard mount.

To narrow it down a little more Todd , its a 1964 frame. 1963 did not use a frame bracket for the automatic shift linkage .
