replacement windshield
need a windshield for my 66.what is the best reproduction glass to go with?
i have read that some are thinner etc.thanks for any info. |

Not sure if you can find a PPG or LOF windshield any more but they will be only ones that will be same thickness as original however they would really old all new ones will be thinner due to the way glass is made now but the new glass is actually stronger. Try a mom and pop shop that has been in business for some time.

Mine says:
PPG Tint Safety Laminated ASI 40 04 DOT 540 M401 4 I don't know what the numbers mean but it has only been in for 2 or 3 years and it cost about $250. Just found out DOT540 means it was made in Mexico. Last edited by vince1; 07-25-2017 at 09:01 PM. |

It was probably made by Crenamex they produce a lot of glass for both PPG and LOF check local dealers you should be able to find one might check prices that sounds a little high to me but then labor is cheaper out here.
