Moog suspension

Just ordered Moog suspension parts ball joints, tie rod ends,pitman & idler arms and shaft kits the question is I thought I would get bushings that had to be pressed in not the case moog this kit don't require pressed in bushings somebody tell me what you think upper shaft,two threaded ends and rubber boot

Thats whet you need. I just ordered the same upper shafts for my 72. The last set i bought fit like a glove

Is this set up as good as control arms with rubber bushings

That is exactly the same as I used a couple of months ago. History shows that it has worked well in all kinds of situations before they changed. I think it may actually be more precise in it's movement. It is sort of like a piece of all thread with a couple of nuts on it so no flex in other directions except for the wanted arc sweep. That said the down side is it would transfer some vibration to the frame where the bushing version dampens it somewhat.

Its not so much a question of good or bad, its what came on all the GM coil spring front end trucks prior to 73. After 73 GM switched to the rubber bushings on 1/2 ton trucks. The 3/4 and one ton trucks stayed with the screw in bushings for at least a decade longer. The rubber bushings have a less harsh feeling when driving on poor roads and depending on your tires may be quieter. You didn't mention what year truck you have. It is possible to retrofit the rubber ones on to an earlier truck if desired.
