71 deluxe "showroom edition"
Just picked up this sweet 71 custom deluxe shortbox from a guy who was 75% done with the complete frame off restoration. 129k original miles, 3rd owner barn find 3 years ago. He had grown tired after over 500 hours of working and spending to bring this jewel back to it's showroom glory. Lucky me to find it, strike the deal and finish this project. Only thing left is to restore the bed, it's in good shape with the exception of the drivers bedside where a combine slid along the side of it (all work and no play?). Any way, I plan to complete it and show it this year, enjoy the ride while I work on my 68 CSST project. Let's see how this turns out.

This truck definatly looks better in person than these pictures. I am very EXCITED to purchase this truck. It has a 1 1/2 mile shakedown run on it since he got it this far.
350 V8 w/ small cam & 300 hp heads ported w/ 2.02 & 1.60 valves, alum. intake and a soon new to be 650 holly. Got a little work to do under the hood and a few odd's & ends on the interior. 350 turbo transmission & 3.07 rear gearing (I think). Home built truck, very impressive work Matt did!

Got it home Saturday, got a short list of parts left to pick up after going thru my "extra parts" bin. The bed needs major help but I believe I can use part of the RH bedside along with the extra RH bedside to make a good OEM one. I have another LH bedside that is great condition to use. Lots of work to get the bed to match the work done on the cab but I do have 3/4 gallon of same paint left over from cab to match up the bed.
The engine compartment needs some TLC and something other than the chrome package it has now. Lots of wires to re-route and new GM heater hoses to install.

Last years updated pic, almost fully restored...stock
355 double hump 300 heads, 460 cam. 350 turbo 3.08 posi rear going mild custom for 2017....pics coming soon Plans are 5/7 drop with 20" hoops, spintech exhaust, it should look pretty sweet.
