Non a.c. heater problems

Hi everyone. I've got a 68 c10 and I'm having problems with my heater. The end of last summer the heater quit working. Didn't bother fixing, because winter is over so why bother. I get under it today and find out the whole thing has somehow come completely unhooked, and I don't know how everything goes, can anyone help me out? Thanks!

What does "completely unhooked" mean? Can you upload a pic or two.

Sorry forgot to add them. The connector in the photo goes to my heater fan but doesn't seem to line up with the connector on the heater controls. There is also a 3 pin connector above the heater ducting that i can't get a good photo of that is unhooked.

That connector doesn't look familiar to me. Are you sure your wire loom isn't for an A/C truck? Looks like the connector may have been changed. How many wires go to it?

Here is a good thread on heater wiring.

That is the wiring plug that does in the back of the Heater control. Plug it back in you should be fine. It can only go in one way. If not check the ground or fuse

Oops. I looked closer at the pic. Strange.
Previous poster sounds possible. Ac/heater truck control plug with heater only controller

Re: Non a.c. heater problems

My trouble is that if I plug in that connector to the controls, there isn't any way to get all of the pins connected. There are 4 in an upside down T shape, and I can hook 3 of the pins up but not all 4. Is that a problem?

Also there is another connector that isn't hooked up in the photo below, I can't find anything to plug it into

The reason you can't get it plugged in correctly is because it is the wrong connector. That won't work.

The plug in the bottom picture plugs into the heater resistor on the top of the interior heater box. (see pic below)
