Re: High School Build Project III

Putting an 87 box on - quicker ratio and use metric 87 o-ring lines to mate with LS pump fitting

Re: High School Build Project III

In the end, using a later model gear is easier than trying to find an original.

I decided to replace my 68 era pump (still haven't), I ordered three times and each time I was sent a later version of the pump. The auto parts stores' comment was "its the right part number, you can use it----just change your hoses and slightly modify your frame and it will work fine"
I put a stop to those comments when I told them if they would bring their butts over and do the work----and give me the new metric hoses I might use their product. That put an end to their "help"!!

The problem is that the rebuilders lump all gears for trucks from around 64 up into the eightys under one part number-----so if you order a 68 gear, theres no telling what you will actually end up with.

When I get around to it Ill go to one of a couple rebuilders who aren't into "Lumping". I was in a hurry and it became a real pain at the time.
