I got 2 bare 14x6 that I may add some 15x8 hoops from Speedway for the rear. That way I can put a pretty wide tire on the rear. As you know backspacing is crucial to these cars. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Wheel-Shells,218.html

Re: Flip Omega
sweet wheels i like them more than the pontiac rallys on my ventura. they are 14" and looked worse than yours b 4 blasting and painting they cleaned up nicely see my pic on previous post. I bought 5 of these same 15" wheels had them blasted and primed. but my plans are to have two of them back halved to make 10" rears and pc these instead of paint then i can mini tub the car get some traction and keep the oe look. all my projects have been stalled due no $. but glad to see you are still going on this project it will be a nice car did you get a shift kit 4 the trans or just a standard rebuild? i guess the big bumper will have to do 4 now huh.I was hoping that you were working on it to give me an idea on what to do with mine

Mini tub would be cool, just knowing myself it would make this too big a project and just dont want to wait that long. The bumper won't be too far off cutting and welding wont cost too much. I still have wire for the mig.

Re: Flip Omega
Can't believe how hard it is to find the proper vac. mod. hose that has 2 different sizes. I picked up a plastic adaptor at Oreilly's and some JB weld just in case. Put on 2 of the rally's just to see. Didn't even wash them first.
Whats the point they need painted something fierce. Too nice of a day to get much else done beside the fuel line at the pump is seeping. I think I need a new line the one on there does not go in smoothly and I think the flare is not seating? I'll figure it out. Maybe a vid tomorrow.

Re: Flip Omega
it moved ! so it looks like the trans is working ok though . the wheels look good on it n they will be really nice when cleaned up.better fix that fuel line gas costs too much to leave it drip on the ground

Re: Flip Omega
Sad to say I no longer own the Omega. Nice young guy wanted a Omega home for his 455. We made a deal now its his.
I had come to realize 2 Oldsmobiles and 2 Volvo's were too much to handle. Stay subscribed as he tells me he will join up here and continue the thread.

Good news is the new owner has plans much the same as I had. He has a running 455 T400 to go in and not sure if he will run the 9" he has in a Cutlass as that would take some work but its possible. I'll leave that to him. Hope to see him post here soon. If for some reason he doesn't sign up here I'll bug him for pics and post updates!

Re: Flip Omega
NONHOG,
He's doing a nice build! Tell him to check on pitman arm. No need to cut headers. BOP x-bodys used a curve pitman arm. He's using a chevy specific pitman arm. I can get pics if need it. |

Re: Flip Omega
That brought back memories! My first NEW car was a '73 Omega.250/3on-the-tree 2door. I put in a Mallory dist.,headers, and a custom intake( to accept a Q-jet),and swapped the original clutch for the larger Cutlass clutch.,and a Mr Gasket floor shift.Sadly,I got married, and it went BYE-BYE!

Re: Flip Omega
Older thread here.
I sold this car shortly after my last previous post on this thread. I drove by my old pontiac twice today. It is a damn shame its been sitting in the same spot in a overgrown field not touched since the new owner towed it home and pushed it off his trailer. I understand its his now but what a waste of a cool car. im sure by now the floors and rear frame are getting pretty rusty,it was a clean car. You can hardly see the roof in the tall weeds. I just dont like too see my work go too waste like that when there is alot of dudes out there that would love to have a ride like this. the fella claimed too have a good running 350/350 combo to drop rite in and he got EVERYTHING with the car too put it rite in including a 3/4 tank of gas.....WHAT ARE YA WAITING FOR! Hate seeing this! Either i shouldnt have sold it too "HIM". Or i shoulda just kept it. Shoulda woulda coulda! Sorry MR.NONHOG for dragging back memories just wanted too express my disgust for scenarios like this. If ya wanted it do something with it. At least care for it a little.

Re: Flip Omega
Maybe he will sell it back to you cheap? Act like you could care less and ask "what up?"
I stay in contact with the kid who bought FO. Its in (or headed to?) paint jail. I'll post pics when I get them. I do get the odd feeling of seeing your old car not getting what it needs. I sold my 66 Lemans Sprint to a HS friend and he blew it apart never to finish. I told him I want 1st dibs if you sell. Never heard from him. Ah well. Also stumbled across my old 66 Barracuda in a wrecking yard.

I'm gonna stop too ask him when i get up that way again. Im sure by now rust has tubbed it for me. I really dont need another project here but if its not too bad underneth. I will drag it back. I have a drivetrain i could drop rite in and at least get it back on the road. I also have a line on a 64 f85. Oviously a way cooler car but i havent seen the condtion yet. At least your fo is being well taken care of.

Re: Flip Omega
Nice! Looks like they did a really nice job on it, really clean looking.
That color green was a good choice for it, still looks like a 70's color, and it goes nicely with the interior. I haven't been up near my old Pontiac since my last post. A friend i havent seen i a long while stopped by last weekend. He said he left a wtb note with his # on the guys door back in april and he never got a reply back from him And I'm sure he wasn't the only person too inquire about it either. I'm sure it still hasn't been touched....
