c notch 49 help?
I have a 49 that I am wanting to bag and put the running boards on the ground. What size C notch do I need to do? It is still on the original frame with a Mustang II front end. The only kits I keep finding is three inches. I know it needs to be more then that.

Re: c notch 49 help?
Look at Welder Series Inc. They make an awesome notch kit that comes flat, you just bend it with a cresent wrench and a vice, and weld it up. Saves a ton of money in shipping and you doing the welding.

ditto, welders series has all kinds of brackets and parts and the USD is better than CAD so it is fairly cheap.

Re: c notch 49 help?
or ....just measure your current ride height from running board to the ground...you know you need at least that much clearance to drop...so in theory with the proper tire your gonna need the same distance from the top side of the axle to the bottom of the c-notch...plus a little for unforseen situations. ..in theory...lets say your running board are 6" off the ground..and you have 3" between the axle and the current frame...you would need a minimum of a 3" notch to achieve the required 6" needed to lay it down plus a little (at least a inch or two)...in this situation i would do a bare minimum 4" notch...6" required drop would require at least a 4" notch + the current 3" would =7 inches or more....make sure your tire diameter will fit in the rear fender without hitting when aired down...

Re: c notch 49 help?
look at ogre series if you want to save some cash
ogre series uses metal and cuts it to fit seriously if you have to cut to fit and weld in the frame you're paying a lot of cash just to have someone else cut it too long
