1969 blazer front seat belt mounts.

My 69 blazer came with some seats out of a 90s blazer and therefor didn't use the correct seat belt mounts. There are two holes in the middle of the step up plate that i assume are used for the seat belts, but the locations by the doors have eluded me. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The drivers should be on the floor pan close to the step up and the passengers should be on the bed floor above the step up.

Re: 1969 blazer front seat belt mounts.

My passenger side is mounted on the vertical step up, not on the horizontal bed floor. As far as I know it has been that way since new. There is even a welded square nut on the backside of the vertical step up for it to bolt into.

I should note that mine is a '72, so '69 might be different.

Re: 1969 blazer front seat belt mounts.

After taking a closer look, my mounting hole for the passenger side is on the bed floor above the step up. Interesting that they would have changed it from 69 to 72.

Probably due to the fact that in the 1969 position, the seatbelt will end up around the passengers stomach. In the 1972 position, the seat belt is pulled down across the hips. The position was probably changed for safety reasons, but who really knows. I only have one really old picture of my Blazer that shows the seatbelt passenger retractor, but I think you get the point.
