Fuel tank relocation options?
I have a cut down 68' SWB 2wd and a 4wd that are in the shop being built at the same time. I am kicking around the idea of getting the tanks out of the cabs.
I do not want to add a fuel door in the bedside, or cut a hole in the floor. So with those two being ruled out, what are my options?

Also my 2wd is static dropped 4.5/5 and I will probably be doing another 1" drop in the rear once i am closer to driving it. How far below the frame rails do these tanks typically hang?

You’re pretty limited. You need the filler hose to route somewhere. You could hide it behind a taillight. I have seen trucks that the taillight swings open to reveal filler. Look up c10 zl1.
I used a tank from tanks Inc. It is a tank for a late 50’s chevy. Not visable from rear. Holds 15 to 16 gallons. Hope this helps. Pete |
