99 tahoe Cant figure out the problem
Hows everyone doing so my 99 Tahoe recently overheated on me when i was idling then went away as i drove looked in the radiator there was not much coolant check the oil it wasn't milky need help trying to figure it out heard people saying it could be intake manifold gasket or a water pump but few days ago i got to work turned the truck off and it started gargling. anything helps thank you

Well could be acouple of things right off top off the coolant and see if it over heats again
at idle if it over heats at idle and goes away while driving and radiator is full then you have a fan/ air flow issuse at idle, second thing is if you are low on coolant it will over heat at idle and cool down when the water pump start moving more water, sound like you need to have the system pressure tested to check for leaks and go from there

X2 on getting the system full. A failed radiator cap can cause a loss of coolant and the coolant to boil if it doesn't hold pressure. The coolant needs to be under pressure in order to raise the boiling point. X2 on checking your cooling fans. Don't worry about intake gaskets on a 99 because the intake does not have any coolant or oil running through it.

Sorry, for giving poor information. The 99 Tahoe can mix the coolant and oil with failed intake gaskets. I was thinking 5.3l. I still don't think that is your problem though.
