Re: motor and trans swap advice
Jamie the engine is a bolt in on your mounts. As for a trans I have a 700R4 in mine with a Ron Francis lock up controller. I used one of the cross members like all the folks sell like ECE and CPP. The cross member for the manual has been removed. I had the drive shaft cut and balanced by a local shop to get the length I needed. I have the Lokar shifter in it and it looks like it came that way. With the 700 lots of folks use the TV made easy setup from Bowtie overdrives.

Re: motor and trans swap advice
What ratio rear end do you have? It's probably a 3.73 or 4.11 since you had a 6 cyl.
I would go with a 700, especially if I intended to go on the highway. (My trucks have a 3.07, I 'm using a th350.) If you want a manual I would probably go with an NV3500 or 4500 How are you going to drive it, and what ratio gear do you have?? Manual or auto?? |

Re: motor and trans swap advice
As long as your 6cyl is a 230/250, the small block will drop right in it it's place.
You can use a factory trans crossmember from a '63-'87 truck or Suburban.
