Eaton or Auburn?
I want to get a limited slip carrier, I have 3.73 gears already so I only am going to swap the carrier itself.
So I've come down to these 2 for my choices but beyond what they can tell me in specs I don't know if one is better than the other. I'm sure you guys have seen both in action... What should I get? MOD

Unless they have changed, the Auburn is not re-buildable so I'd go Eaton.

Went with the Eaton Detroit Truetrack performance posi put in a Nodular Iron housing. Very adaptable for all road conditions and exceptionally rugged.

Eaton. I own a couple of Auburns for Dana 44's. I got them on a clearance deal for $180 each. For my off-road intent they will last forever and at that price nothing could touch it.
But for the raod, Eaton all the way. Wouldn't even consider the Auburn.

You can't go wrong with either. Both are top shelf quality units that are time tested and proven tough. From way back I'm a Detroit Locker rear/TruTrac front 4wd guy. Still best bang for buck in 4wds. But I have run a Auburn in a couple 12-bolts, both 2wd and 4wd and they held up to it all, almost all on the road.

I just installed an Eaton Limited Slip this summer and it is great. On the street you wouldn't even know you have a locker. It is rebuildable and you can put in different springs to make it more aggressive, if needed.

Tru-trac, will always perform in the same manner. All gear drive, no clutches to wear out. When you buy you'll have to specify it is for the front. They are somewhat directional.

Is anyone using this?
Powertrax Lock-Right Lockers 1910-LR https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...0-lr/overview/ I've been using the car version in my 518HP 67 Cutlass with a 468 BBC for about 15 years without any issues. Seems to be cheaper than the Eaton.

I had been looking at getting this set on ebay, comes with a Yukon Duragrip posi, but unspecified brand ring & gear. It's just really cheap, about $200 less than buying the install kit, ring & gear, and the eaton truetrac.

I did a lot of research and the vast majority I found said to go with and were happy with Eaton. So I bought one, but it's still in the box... I have to rebuild the rear its going in first...

I wouldn't have any issue running the Yukon Duragrip. I would think it came with Yukon gears as well which I also have used quite a bit with no issues.
