noticed th350 slipping
my c20 th350 recently began slipping, have only noticed slip in first and reverse. am generally happy with th350 if I stick with it and rebuild, is it possible to have final third gear changed from 1.0 to say 0.90 ? running 4.1 rear gear but planning on changing that at some point.

Re: noticed th350 slipping
Not possible. The unit is designed to run at 1:1 final drive. Not as simple as a gear change in a manual transmission. Even if you could, you would only have three gears and sacrifice 3rd.
I assume your fluid is topped off and it still slips. Does the fluid look burnt?

Re: noticed th350 slipping
3rd "gear" has no reduction, the power is transmitted at a 1:1 ratio straight through to the output shaft. Overdrive transmissions have another gearset for the task.

Re: noticed th350 slipping
Look into putting a 200R4 into the truck...same length as a T350...has overdrive...and can be built pretty stout ,...
Just my two cents worth |

Re: noticed th350 slipping
Nothing in common with first and reverse. It would be strange to have those symptoms in common.
The gear set turns as a locked unit in third so no way to get an overdrive ratio
