swap ? ecm

I bought a 2002 Tahoe with a 5.3 but also I had bought a 2007 1500 5.3 well I need to know if the 02 wiring harness and ecm will work on a 2007 ?

02 = GenIII
07= GenIV

Thats the case most of the time, but they made both engines in '07, so if its out of a Silverado Clasic or a van it will be a GEN 3 engine. You should be able to tell them apart since the crank sensor and knock sensors are in different spots on the 3 than the 4.

you can usually tell the genIII from the genIV by the color of the crank position sensor if your engine is mostly apart. The genIII's should have a black crank position sensor where the genIV should be white or grey.

note: crank position sensor is hidden behind starter.
