1969 c-30 Open Road Camper
Hello. I'm new here. Need some advice about a camper we are thinking of purchasing. 1969 C-30 1 ton dually with open road camper. The truck is in great shape, has 130,000 miles on it and runs great. No dents, no rust, original paint. 350 with th350 transmission The camper skin needs minor work in a few places. I included two photos of the truck before the paint was stripped off the camper. Needs a paint job. Has a drop down patio deck for the rear that needs some work (has a bow in it). Has a second RV battery in it with a battery isolator. Tires are good. Interior needs some minor work. There was a leak up front by the bed, but has been repaired and bad spots replaced. Just needs paneling. Everything is supposed to work, altho there is a leak in the toilet, will need another...
We've been wanting to buy something like this and renovate it, but trying to research the value of this rig is really difficult. There a very few on the market. The only recent one I could find, was one in really good shape that sold for 12,000 last year, but it was in better shape than this one. We can purchase for 6500. Thoughts? Is this a deal, or should we let it go? Thank you! Last edited by classic89; 11-04-2017 at 06:54 PM. |

Also... floor is solid. No water leaks excepting up at the front.

Cool looking rig! Can't guess a value, but offer what you think it's worth. Worst you will hear is no.

Re: 1969 c-30 Open Road Camper
Most of these campers I have seen for sale are very low mileage. This one has definitely been used. Looks to have lots of water problems too. 6500 seems steep to me, especially since this one will need a total tear down. If I was buying one for camping and not discarding the camper part I (personally) would keep looking.

CG. So you think it needs a complete tear down? I believe the only water damage was up at the front by the bed. Everything else is solid. Thank you for your reply.
