Re: GM Vacuum Gauge/tin/lens
Hey John, very tempting. Can you take a pic of the inner tin in the upper right of the gas gauge? I'm not sure if it is reflection or damage to the tin? Thanks, Curt

Re: GM Vacuum Gauge/tin/lens
Curt,
Great eye! The first two pics are the Tac/Vac tin. There is actually a little paint fish eye. The third picture is the base tach tin w/o vac and it has the same imperfection. There is a small manufacturing imperfection as shown in both the vac tin and identical on a regular tin. |

Re: GM Vacuum Gauge/tin/lens
I would lightly wet sand the tin and add another coat of black

Re: GM Vacuum Gauge/tin/lens
Thanks for the pic John, just ran out to the shop and sure enough every factory inner tin has these stamping marks. They are hidden by the bezel and not noticeable. As far as the fish eye though I would probably try as you said by sanding and repaint. That being said would it be fair to offer $225 shipped?

Re: GM Vacuum Gauge/tin/lens
I think you should see that flaw in any factory front tach tin. I have one I am doing for a customer with the same flaw.
Besides the weight difference, it is an easy way to tell a factory tin from a aftermarket. Great deal!
