Look at my last post on this thread:

All early Chevy/GMC K10/20, Dana 44 pumpkin were offset too passenger side to line up with NP 205 or Np 203 Transfer Case.

Re: 69 gmc half ton

The pinion is always going to be a little offset some to keep the axle shafts the same length. "Cept maybe the 14 bolt full float, just from its massive size and pinion support

Re: 69 gmc half ton

If your refering to the rear Differential, look at this website:

https://www.tomsdifferentials.com

Chevy 12 bolt for a truck is what should be OE, but different years had different shaft lenghts.

Re: 69 gmc half ton

so to get this right, a 69 gmc c-10, is suppose to have a 12 bolt rear differential, instead of the 10 bolt that is in it now?? the off-set could be out of a k10 or a g series van, thanks! know where else to look now, to maybe get the right axles now.

Re: 69 gmc half ton

The early GMCs used a Dana 44 rear end. Which also had an offset pumpkin. Rear end is most likely original

Re: 69 gmc half ton

Yeah, the Dana44 could be correct original in your GMC. Use Dana44 to identify it and drop the 10-bolt part. While many rears have 10 bolts holding cover on, there is only one known as the 10-bolt and that is the corporate GM rear, which came along later.

Got pictures?

Re: 69 gmc half ton

yea I got pictures of differential and all 3 numbers on pumpkin there are no numbers on the tubes, have wire brushed them down. numbers on pumpkin are 44-1, c or g-30284, 1968618, and 2018188. if you can tell me if this belongs in my 69 g.m.c. 1/2 ton c-10 I would really appreciate it. I have been told by several people it doesn't belong in it. it is a 6-lug with a 2" off-set.
