73-87 DBW pedal bracket?

I think I used 2 holes that were already there in my 82 to bolt it to the floor . That is a good idea, I have a question though as I know nothing about welding.
I am worried that welding my pedal will get the pedal too hot and mess up the electronics in the pedal. Do I not need to worry about that? If not I have a friend who can weld for me and I may end up doing what you did.
