1970 K5 4WD to 2WD Question
How do I get from 4WD to 2WD? I have a 1970 K5 Blazer, pretty much stock. I was wondering what is the best way to go about doing this. I hear a lot of people say get a donor truck for parts. Is it possible to take my body and put it on a 2WD truck that already has been dropped? Or do I have to take all the parts and put them on my K5. I've read a lot of the build threads on here and any input would be great. Thanks.

Re: 1970 K5 4WD to 2WD Question
Here is a great article to get you started...
http://www.trucktrend.com/how-to/cha...wd-conversion/ Fast and easy way is to change out front suspension to 2wd stuff - all but 1 or 2 sets of holes will already be there and then do an axle flip to be on top of the spring in the rear. Many have done the swap over a weekend. |

4x4 are nice and rare. Converting to 2x4 might be better done by buying a 2x4 truck rather than ruining a 4x4.

Re: 1970 K5 4WD to 2WD Question
I took my shop truck and did a step cut removing 11 inches out from under where the cab would had sat, worked fine. Sold the 4x4 chassi and never looked back....
