Good item to install when you add a Vintage Air AC. I did on by burb and it works like a charm.

I have a non a.c. truck with vintage air. Anyone have any ideas on how I would get the factory fast idle to work on my quadrajet? (Wiring)

Re: Fast Idle Solenoid

The easiest would be to wire the solenoid to the a/c clutch power. When clutch is engaged and ac is on, fast idle is on.

Re: Fast Idle Solenoid

Fast idle is for AC only? Mine is totally gone so Im not sure what mine would look like?

Roger, you have 2 different kinds of brackets, so what is correct for a 72 with factory AC and quadrajet?

thanks,
Greg

Re: Fast Idle Solenoid

Hi roger any chance you have reproduced the wiring harness for the fast idle solenoid, for the one with the vacuum hook up?
Also do you still have the top left one available?
Thanks,
Tom

The top left one is still available.

I may have an original harness for the fast idle solenoid, but will need to check. I do have the metal vacuum line and mounting clip which runs from the distributor to the solenoid.

Re: Fast Idle Solenoid

Did you sell all of these? Looking for one for a 71 with factory AC. Fair warning: I'm not sure of the correctness my Q-Jet, and don't have a fast idle solenoid or bracket on the truck to compare with.

Yes I still have some of them for sale which do include the mounting bracket. As for carb send me your 7 or 8 digit number and I can determine if your carb is correct.

Roger
I have a 72 with AC. The switch I have now doesn't mount to my new edelbrock carb. Do these brackets bolt to the carb or the manifold?

Yes they mount to the carb, Look at the last pic in the lower right corner. I think it will work with your edelbrock carb
