Turn Signal Switch conversion?
1959 Chevy Apache -
The 1st picture is what truck currently has. Have rewired truck with Speedway 22 circuit kit. It looks like the wiring will be a direct fit, but will the later model switch work with stock manual steering column? Thanks, Kel |

Re: Turn Signal Switch conversion?
It does not look like they would interchange, what's wrong with using the stock '59 switch?

Re: Turn Signal Switch conversion?
The signal lever does not hold in place, and with the new wiring harness, the 2 ends are way different. Was thinking the newer harness, if it worked, would match up well with the Speedway connector?

Re: Turn Signal Switch conversion?
I don't believe that the newer switch is going to work in that housing. Actually I don't think it will even fit in it. A pre 4 way flasher switch like out of a 64 might fit but that is just a guess. I'd think that is what your buddy did trying to look knowledgeable.

Re: Turn Signal Switch conversion?
i don't believe the later switch will fit in the housing, just replace with stock if you can buy one
gm didn't change a lot of color codes over the years, start with this new is 8 wires including horn and hazard, stock is 6 wires; didn't have hazard and the horn wire is separate hookup white to the brake light switch and purple to the flasher power lt blue and dk blue are the front turn signals, yellow is lr stop/turn that pretty much leaves the pink and green wire for the rr stop/turn
