How to install plastic glove box liner?

Purchased a new plastic glove box liner for my 81 w/AC, its very stiff and will not bend on the sides to fit under the metal tabs, and it also won't slide in from the top or bottom; do you have to bend the left and right tabs of the metal glove box piece out or something? Really don't want to do that as I have fresh paint on my metal glove box plate and afraid it will bend the visible front area.

Watch this, it helped me a lot when I did mine. The part about the liner, is about 6 mins in.

Looks like it mounts on top of the tabs not under them. . .

Thanks! That really helped, had it wrong, most of the liner goes over the metal tabs, not under them, just wasn't thinking.

Yes, not sure what I was thinking, much easier that way. The very top goes under the tab, but yes everything else goes over the metal tabs.

Re: How to install plastic glove box liner?

Ran into another issue with the latch/lock assembly; purchased all new stuff from LMC, the latch looks fine and like the original - but the lock/knob is stripped down and like hollow - it doesn't have the spring clip things that hold the knob into the latch, so it just falls out! Anyone else ran into this buying a new lock knob?

Thinking about buying one from another company that hopefully has the spring loaded clip things.
