Engine Swap Questions

I have an opportunity to get a 1973 454 with a turbo 400 from my brother. I have a 64 short wheelbase step side with a 292 and a 3 on the tree. Other than exhaust, transmission mounts and linkage, driveshaft and radiator what else am I needing?

Re: Engine Swap Questions

Engine mounts, then use the forward two holes in the frame.

Re: Engine Swap Questions

Disc brakes, good springs and quality shocks? I'd put a stout sway bar on there too if it were me.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=259536 Some info here. Don't have to use the front holes. Some just adjust the firewall to fit it in.

Re: Engine Swap Questions

I recommend engine mounts and brackets from either a '68-'71 C series truck with a big block, or the engine mounts and brackets from a '73-'87 C20 or C30 . You can use the transmission mount from the same vehicles.
