Shoulder bolt
Shoulder bolt
Looking to buy the pin/bolt that connects the brake pedal and booster rod. Anyone know where i can get one, or have one kicking around from an old parted out truck? |

Google it. MSD Direct and Fastenal are two who show up. Measure diameter and length of shoulder, overall length thread pitch and you will get what you need. McMaster/Carr would also be an excellent source!

Re: Shoulder bolt
Make sure to get one with a hole for the cotter pin. It takes a locking nut, as well. GM used the "belts and suspenders" approach to make sure that that bolt doesn't come out.

Re: Shoulder bolt
Ok...here is where you can source it, spec it and buy it online.
Go to the McMaster Carr website....and search under shoulder bolts or screws. You should find exactly what you need. These guys are really amazing and I use them for industrial equipment purposes all the time. If you order before 11;00 am on some days you will have your item by the following afternoon....they are quite the operation. You might get faster shipping response if you can have it sent to where you work or a commercial address? anywhooo....worth checking out. Coley

Re: Shoulder bolt
I was about to give up the search, but I found them. The threads on the nut and bolt need cleaned, due to surface rust, but they're in good shape otherwise. If you pm me your address, I'll get them sent out asap.

Re: Shoulder bolt
Swb4me
Thanks a lot, I have been looking for the bolt for over a week. Wouldn't you know it after I posted I decided to have one last sweep, and I found it in a place I should never have put it in the first place (bagging everything is only so good when you put stuff in the wrong bag), so I won't be needing it after all. Sorry to make you search for nothing. Thanks every one for the help. |

Re: Shoulder bolt
No problem. More than once have I replaced a lost part only to find it a few days later. Good luck with your project.
