What does you do for a spare tire? Donut? Full size? Nothing?

I have 225/60/16 tires on 5 x 4.75 rims and thought about a s10 donut but all I can find is full size.

I do have an old 14" x 6.5 rim but can't find a tire that is ~26.6" tall.

Thoughts?

That's the problem with moving the tank to the bed. I have a spare in the shop so at least I can call wifey for rescue.

I have not even thought about where to mount- I kinda need to know how big it will be before I get creative. If it will have to be full size, the garage it might have to be. (and making sure to have roadside assistance)

Fix-A-Flat. Two can, in case. On a long trip to my sons it’ll be a real spare in the bed and a cheapo small floor jack.

I've got the skinny spare off an 84 Olds Delta 88 that my dad had years ago. It gets me to the closest tire store for the tire chain I deal with and that is all I need. Plan is for it or one similar to go behind the seat when I stretch the cab.

That's what I carry. I have used it for a "temporary" roadside flat repair, and it worked so well that I never bothered to do a permanent fix. The beauty is that it not only seals the puncture, it inflates the tire too.

it doesn't get in the bead of the tire making it hard to remove the tire from the rim

you guys started me thinking, I'm going to build about a 3.5 in pocket in the floor behind my seat. left or right of driveshaft. this will allow the spare to drop down and clear the seat. I have a skinny s10 temp spare

I only needed 2.5 inch pocket and the spare works great 27 inch temp spare. wish I knew how to post pics to show you guys

With moving the tank to the bed and the extra room in the cab, I decided to carry fix a flat and a small compressor. I used this in my motorcycle as well and works well. Plus AAA just in case... ;0))

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
