Sorry but again its asked: Spindles or Springs?
Ok I know that this has been hashed before but my wife wants me to check before the cash is spent
![]() I am planning a complete front end rebuilt anyway so everything will come apart & I will add a frt sway bar also. I have a 72 C-10 w/ 350ci that I want to mildly lower. Only 3-4 in frt & 4-5 in rr. Ride quality is important as she would like something built for her in the future if mine turns out nice. I have been told that since I want to run 15in truck rally's that spindles will rub or interfer.....true? Anyone done this and problems? Rear I am thinking of a 4in coil & mabye 1in block...thoughts?? I have thought about bags all around but the cost seems high, what am I looking at? I think early classics has a spindle/spring kit for around $900 but I can do springs only for $200, how much for bags and what do they require? Thanks for all the help even if you have given this info to 1000 b4 ![]() ![]() 1 Leg Lance |

I'd say so go spindles w/ that much drop in front, much safer in my book, I heard throwing in that small of spring up front causes problems in front, also I've checked into bags, for all 4 corners and the pump, holding tank, valves etc is anywhere from 1500-2000 that I found, but there might be cheaper ones out there, hope this helps

For the best ride spend the $$ for spindles. I run 6.5" van ralleys on the front of my beater w/no probs so as long as you don't go crazy w/bspacing you won't have probs. What's best for the rear depends on your plans for the truck. Mine is very low for a daily driver & I still need to occasionally tow a car hauler so I installed a 2-wheel air ride set-up. Although initially more expensive this allows it to be low & then ready to tow @ the touch of the button, but if your not gonna put alot of stuff in the rear dropped coils w/blocks is good enough. Good luck.

Got to agree, go with spindles.
I tried 3" springs on front of my truck initially, and it didn't ride right. Went to 2" spindle and 2" spring and it now rides, sits, and handles better. Wish I would have gone with spindles first. Would have saved a lot of time, money, and frustration. SC

Spindles all the way. I don't know who said they'd rub; I've got 15" '80s 6-lug pickup rallys and Early Classic Enterprises spindles/disc brakes up front and there's no clearance problems with the wheel itself. It could use a bit more backspacing, though.
