fuel lines for 67 c10

can any one help me out i just installed my rear gas tank and im wondering what is the best way for me to go about the fuel line. can some one give me some advise Ill post some pics later on

i bought steel brake line and made my own. Only problem was only being able to get it in 5 ft. pcs.

im assuming 3/8"

Can i just extend the factory lines or ought I redo line from tank to fuel pump

if your existing lines are ok, then there's no real reason to replace them IMO.
If memory serves, I used three 5 foot sections when I redid the lines on my burb from the tank to the pump. I may have had a smaller section in there too, or maybe I trimmed off some of the last piece. I used some of the black line, and it bends SO easy. Made running the line to the contour in the frame 10 times easeir.

Well, I PLAN on running the factory line to where the undercab tank line exited. Then using a rubber line and 2 clamps and go to metal line, how much metal line would there be from stock tank to blazer tank..

this sound like a good plan?

I used a 6' section of 3/8 brake line from Autozone to go from the factory line on the frame to my blazer tank. I think it was about $7.

so let me get this correct all that i need to do is used the stock line that comes from the engine to the tank which was located behind the seat then from there i run 6' of 3/8 brake line all the way to my new blazer tank conversion. wow this sound so easy. One more thing what are all the other lines that come out of the tank i know ones the return but the rest are for what? (thats not my pic but thats the same set up i have)

Yep, if you craw under your truck you will find a splice in the fuel line on the frame where the fuel line turns to go to your in cab tank. Disconnect that splice and using that 6' (you'll need more for a long bed) brake like connect it to you tank. The two fittings on the fill side, I plugged one and used the other as a vent for the fuel filler. The one on the sending unit side I used to go to my charcoal canister(71-72 only).

I just staighten out where it curves to go behind the seat then used 3/8 rubber line from there to my gas tank. about 5 ft If I remember right.

5 feet of rubber is not recomended, nor is it all that safe.

I didn't use a return line. (Different tank) But used two vent lines one high to the filler neck and the other with a vent valve (removed from a late model p/u) attached higher than the tank under the bed. If you have some difficulty fueling you may decide you need a 2nd vent.

any autoparts store can supply you with 20foot rolls of tubing and it's far superior to use with no joints IMO

rubber fuel lines are great until the fire

so on a longbed I need 7-8 ft of 3/8 tubing?

does the tank have a nipple comming off of it? or is it have a threaded connection?(mines in the mail)

trying to get all my parts Ill need.

also, should i paint my metal blazer tank?

rubber stuff or paint or bedliner stuff?



and the tank has a vent line? wheres the best place to run it to?

its got 3 metal tubes coming out its just like the one in the pic above. and a fourth one coming out from the sending unit.
does any one have any experience with JEGS Pro-Flo 200 Series Braided Hose or is there anything better out there

Personally, I am not a huge fan of braided steel lines. The only real advantage is they look pretty. The typical ones avalible are cheap rubber hoses covered with the steel braided mesh. While it does offer some added protection, it is still a rubber hose that gets dry rotted and leaks in a matter of a few years. The longer the hose, the greater the chances of problems. On top of that, the braided cover is very abraisive. I have seen where braided lines have actually cut, or even wore a hole in sheet metal, or anything else around it.
While I'll admit, I don't quite 'get it' as to why everyone likes the steel braided look, I do understand that this is what a lot of people want. However, a steel line done right will outlast the engine it is feeding, and can be routed to be hidden and not draw attention to it, but to actually make the engine the main focal point.

Reviving an old thrend. I am looking to move my fuel tank from the cab. Want fuel lines will I need to deal with. Do I need to work with a return line or can I just run the line from the pump to the tank. Trying to figure out what I need to purchase to make the swap.

In this pic what is the metal tube with the black rubber pipe connected to it do? Im having trouble filling my truck with gas and i looked under and this tube is sheared off. Huge deal?

It takes a lot of patience and it helps to be physically fit (just like that helps in all things) and you need a long work bench but I would make my own.

Buy coils of Polyarmor tubing from NAPA, a bender (I got mine from Amazon.com), and a flare kit. I bought mine from Craftsman. You'll also need a tubing cutter and a bench vise. Youtube videos will show you how. Finally you'll need a carpenter's knife and some rubber fuel line hose and hose clamps.

Go slowly and bend new line to hug the frame rail and come as close as you can to your outlets (tank and pump). Attach to the frame with clips, the originals will work fine as I reused mine.

You want as few inches of rubber hose used as possible. Bubble flares are all you need here assuming you use rubber hose as connections.

If you need to convert 3/8 inch tubing to 5/16, Jegs sells a brass transition for that, I used one under my cab.

Wear eye protection any time under a vehicle.

You can also use stainless steel braided hose and AN fittings, Summit Racing has everything you need for that but it will greatly increase your costs.

So i have a fuel injected LS engine in it and it doesnt have a problem running its just when i fill up with gas the nozzle keeps clicking off. I replaced the vent line and fill tube. no change. Then i crawled under and see this line is sliced in half. no leaking or anything.

Seems as though my line goes from the gas tank right next to a small wire (im assuming its a sending unit for my electric gauges), the big rubber tube feeds into the rear end and stops there. Im lost as to what this is.
