L83 is what’s in the 2014 up trucks. I haven’t heard of any issue with those. I don’t know what’s wrong with an aluminum block unless it’s real high mileage, worn out, or you’re wanting to bore it and put a lot of boost to it. I think you’ll be happy with the l83. Get the harness and ecm, too. I don’t know what your transmission options/limitations are with the new motors. You may want to research that.
