1978-83 pulse/delay kit
I've got 1 complete kit for somebody who either wants to convert to pulse/delay or just needs a working unit.
This kit includes: 1.) OEM GM wiper switch 2.) OEM GM delay module 3.) new wire leads from firewall connector to wiper motor In the pic you can see the old electrolytic capacitors I replaced with new ones. Typically this is a failure point in these modules so I opted to replace all 4 just to be on the safe side. Unit has been tested and is ready to go!! Asking $75 for this switch/module and new leads. |

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
I'd like to add that in order for the delay feature to function properly, you MUST also connect the two leads for the washer pump. This circuit works with the capacitance with the delay itself-if you unplug the washer pump leads-no more delay....plug it back in and you have delay back. I tested one that was returned which was working fine after I ran a series of tests on it. From now on I replace all capacitors anyway.

I can also supply an underdash conversion harness for you 73-77 guys who want to swap to a factory style pulse/delay as well-you'll just have to let me know!

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Hello machine. I hope all is well. How does this wiper kit work and what does it come with? I have the wiper switch that turns on the wiper but I need the harness that goes from the switch to the wiper motor. I think it's a total of 7 wires. Thanks in advance, Clark.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Clark...what year are you working on? If you have a 78-83 and same year switch, you won't need any underdash wiring....you just need a pulse module-which i have available separate too if that's all you need. Let me know!

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
I am temporarily SOLD OUT on used/updated/tested pulse delay modules and delay switches. I'll post a new thread when these are available again-I still have (1) NOS pair available-I believe that is in another F/S thread.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
This what I have. I just want a working unit. The delay/pulse would have been nice. Tell me what you can help me with, price, and PayPal info. All I really need is the connector that goes to the back of the wiper switch. I can trace the wires to make it work. Price determines everything.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Well the issue is-I don't have any extra connectors-they aren't available NOS and I haven't found the supplier for them-they don't appear to be Delphi terminals either. All I have are matched pulse/delay modules and switches-I'm currently out of stock on used sets-only an NOS set which I've had in storage for a very long time-but that set isn't cheap.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Can I send you the unit that I have and let you put your spin on it? What's the price on the unit you have? I'll pay for the ride, I found the connector and its $70. I'd hate to pay $70 for a plug and wires when I can solder the wires, directly to the wiper switch. At this time, I don't want to do that. Give me a reasonable way out gmachinz. I'm driving in Florida, where rains all year round, without windshield wipers. I need you. Help a brother out.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
gmachinz, I have a 1976 Chevy Cheyenne that I'm looking to add a pulse/delay. What exactly do I need to make this conversion? I've been reading through some old treads, and i'll need a 1978-1983 wiper motor right? What year switch and module do I need? Any info would be great. Thanks.

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Thanks for the info, gmachinz. I'm definitely considering your offer. Just checking with a few used options here in Canada first. What year switch and module do I need, with the 78-83 wiper motor and arm linkage?

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
You need a 78-83 switch and module set-it won't matter which years are what as long as they fall within the 78-83 range. The 78-80 style says "wash wipe" while the 81-83 just has a fluid spray image

Re: 1978-83 pulse/delay kit
Not at the moment...but I have nice re-furbished/tested ones with new Panasonic capacitors with the same voltage ratings. Leaking caps is the most common failure point in these delay modules.
